More Japanese G1 added thanks to Artfire2000

I forgot to mention in my last update, Chuck from Artfire2000.com put a few Japanese G1 card images in my inbox as well!

To this day I'm still not sure of why Takara opted to print the cards on the inner flaps of the boxes versus keeping with the individual bio cards as they did for so many years. It makes getting good scans a little tougher, but tight now I'll take whatever I can get. Thanks again for the help!

New submissions from David Aguero, Benson Yee and Lejam Onerock

Over the last week or so my inbox has been filled up with new card images to add to the database! I'll keep saying as I never want someone to think that I'm not grateful for all the help. THANK YOU! The submissions this time come from David Aguero, Benson Yee and Lejam Onerock.

Up first are a handful of Combiner Wars cards submitted by none other than Benson Yee. You may know Benson from his awesome TF site, www.BWTF.com. I own several of these toys, yet I'm the guy that it takes forever to open new purchases so I've yet to actually scan the cards myself.

     

     

     

David Aguero, blogger at Transformers Obsession, provided me with a few official Hasbro / Takara stuff and some more 3rd party cards.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

  

     

     

     

And last, but certainly not least is the submission from Lejam Onerock. Lejam contacted me out of the blue on Facebook and offered up the art work he supplied Mastermind Creations for their Hexatron ("not Sixshot") release. Beautiful, simply beautiful!

     

With the database growing as it is, I'm already starting to experience some "growing pains". I may be giving the site a small tweak, such as giving the toy bio cards a separate area from the traditional non-toy trading cards. The 3rd party section is growing too so I may break that up into it's own page with sub-categories for the larger 3rd party companies. 

In addition to trying to catalog as many of these card images as possible, I want to do it in a way that looks good and makes it easy to find what you may be looking for. Of course this is work I gladly take on as it means this humble project has been successful and is growing! Thanks for everything guys!

RID Tiny Titans Series 2

Thanks to Lewis M Brooks, we have a look at the cards from series 2 of the new Robots in Disguise (2015) Tiny Titans. The mix of characters is again...um, eclectic? I'm trying not to get wrapped up in buying stuff I don't want just for cards these days, so I doubt I'll be adding many of these to my personal card collection, but I'm am grateful to Lewis that I can add these to the database if nothing else.

I'm behind on my comic reading, but I'm guessing this is more of a IDW-esque version of Ultra Magnus?

I know Topsin is one of the Wreckers, but this looks more like his War For Cybertron version.

Orange thighs tells me this version of Superion is based on the new Combiner Wars version.

Really digging this new look of Ratchets.

It's Bumblebee, pass.

Everybody's favorite, Jazz.

I'm really starting to love the idea of the animalistic traits the Decepticons feature in the new RID series.

There is something about this look of Soundwave that just seems "off" to me...

The only figure in this wave I can see myself buying.

Can't wait to see what Quillfire will look like in action figure form.

Super God Masterforce Grand Maximus and Headmasters Raiden courtesy of Artfire2000.com

Chuck sent me two treats to my inbox recently. Business must be good for him as he usually sends me new scans of cards right before he sells something. Today's scans are very much appreciated (as always), but especially since one of them is of a holy grail type Transformer...Grand Maximus himself! I've never even seen his card before I opened the e-mail attachment. A huge thank you for helping add some much needed "muscle" to the database!
