It seems like fans were diversely divided when the first images for the Transformers Animated show were released. However the Animated toy line marked the first series where it appeared the television show designs and the figures were a close one to one. In typical Takara fashion, the Japanese series of Animated toys featured premium paint decos and even a few new toys not released in the U.S.
In addition to the bio cards that could be found packaged with Takara's Animated toys, Sega had also developed exclusive cards designed to interact with their arcade game.
